CARE and Honduras
For more than 40 years, CARE has worked with Hondurans to improve their health, education, agricultural practices, food security, access to safe water and institutional strengthening among local governments and grass roots organizations. Today, CARE is the largest private international relief and development organization in Honduras - working with families affected by Hurricane Mitch and throughout the poorest regions of the country. CARE's strategy in Honduras is to try to meet minimum needs for as many people as possible while at the same time addressing the broad crisis themes the country faces.
