SIERRA LEONE EXPERTS
Jack Soldate
WEST AFRICA PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Based in Atlanta, Soldate directs CARE's relief and development activities in West Africa. These programs range from emergency food distribution in Sierra Leone to an environmental conservation and reforestation project in Niger. Soldate has extensive knowledge in disaster preparedness and response, rural agricultural development, health and nutrition programs and refugee camp management. He has more than 20 years of international development experience, working in Sierra Leone,Malawi, Niger, Mali, Northern Iraq and the former Soviet Union.
Nick Webber
SIERRA LEONE COUNTRY DIRECTOR
Currently based in Sierra Leone, Webber supervises CARE's humanitarian relief operations in the Moyamba, Port Loko and Tonkolili districts of Sierra Leone, as well as in the capital city of Freetown. Webber coordinates relief operations with other humanitarian organizations, as well as the European Union, the United States Agency for International Development, the United Kingdom's Department for International Development and the United Nations.
Syl Fannah
SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Based in Freetown, Fannah is CARE's senior management officer on the ground in the war-torn country. Employed by CARE for more than eight years, Fannah oversees CARE's staff and the day-to-day operations of CARE's programs in Sierra Leone. A native of Sierra Leone, Fannah attended college in the United States, graduating in 1984 from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock.

Chris Conrad
SOUTHERN AND WEST AFRICA REGIONAL DIRECTOR
With more than 20 years of development experience, Conrad has worked in Chad, Congo, Haiti, India, Mali, Togo and Uganda. As regional director, Conrad oversees all of CARE USA's programs in Southern and West Africa, including the countries of Angola, Ghana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Sierra
Leone, South Africa and Togo. He is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Andrew Pugh
COORDINATOR FOR ADVOCACY
Pugh is responsible for coordinating CARE USA's advocacy activities in the United States, as well as expanding advocacy efforts within countries that CARE works in overseas. Pugh brings more than 10 years of experience in development work for CARE, including assignments in Armenia, northern Iraq, the Russian Federation and West Africa. As Advocacy Coordinator, he works on policy positions surrounding issues such as land mines, foreign assistance and family planning as well as front-burner emergency situations such as the famine in Sudan.

Marge Tsitouris
EMERGENCY GROUP DIRECTOR
Tsitouris has over 22 years of overseas experience, serving in Central America, Asia, and East and West Africa, including Sierra Leone. From CARE USA's in Atlanta, Tsitouris provides support, guidance and supervision for emergency operations. She has extensive knowledge of programming in food and logistics, water and sanitation, infrastructure, agriculture and natural resources and health education. She most recently coordinated CARE's relief response in Bosnia-Herzegovina and in Central America, after Hurricane Mitch.
