Corridor is an HIV/AIDS cross broaders project funded by World Bank to provide an appropriate HIV/AIDS Education for traders and Drivers moving along the corridor road from Abidjan to Lagos in West Africa (Gulf of Guinea Region). In response to RFA launched by Executuve Secretary of this project in all the countries (Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigerai) to sollicitate the participation of NGOs to this program.
The proposal submitted by CARE GoG SO has two components. The first is related to reinforce the capacity of the Hilla-Condji (boarder of Benin and Togo Republic) professionnal association leaders to prepare and conduct the HIV/AIDS education sessions to their members and plan at short term the peer education strategy. This compnent will be implemented direct by the CARE field agent .
The second component is related to the coordination of all beninese NGOs intervention by establishing and managing the Mandamp;E system that allow Corridor Officers to follow the implementation of the program in tne Benin project sites (Hilla-Condji and Krak). CARE will provide the technical assistance to NGOs to improve the qualitity of their services deliver to the differents target groups.
The projet will allow CARE to:
1. Design the HIV/AIDS education program to help professionnal associations leaders to understand the impact of the HIV on their economic activities and then build their capacity to plan and implement the HIV education activities to the members of thirs organizations
2. Coordinate the intervention of the Corridor NGOS contractors in the sites of Krak and Hilla-Cndji
